The Energy Infrastructure Forum 201623-24 June 2016
The Energy Infrastructure Forum was set up to discuss the major issues relating infrastructure and EU energy policy. It is a platform for exchange of views between policy-makers and stakeholders
Cecoforma assisted with the organisation of the Energy Infrastructure forum in partnership with the Danish Ministry of Energy, Climate and Utilities.
Day 1 consisted of high-level sessions oriented towards future challenges for energy infrastructure.
Day 2 was composed of working level sessions related to the Commission services' activities in the field of energy networks and regional initiatives.
Speakers included Klaus-Dieter Borchardt, European Commission, DG ENER, Director, Internal Energy Market; Judit Szilágyi, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary; Dominique Ristori, European Commission, Director-General for Energy; and Miguel Arias Cañete, EU Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy.
- Facilitate stakeholders’ participation in the policy shaping process and make sure that EU’s energy legislation is goal-oriented, operational and comprehensive.
- Continue to be ambitious and relevant in the current energy infrastructure targets that are part of the wider climate action and energy framework.
Be a key action to advance the development of trans-European energy infrastructure, which is vital to Europe’s success in building a secure, competitive and sustainable Energy union.
