“Economic advice in fisheries management"4-5 February 2016
We assisted DG MARE, in collaboration with the European Association of Fisheries Economists and the University of Malta, with the organisation of a conference in the form of plenary sessions followed by parallel sessions and panel discussions
The conference "Economic advice in fisheries management: a trilogue between science, administration and stakeholders" was an opportunity for actors and stakeholders from a wide range of domains and maritime regions to explore how economic advice can contribute to fisheries management in a rapidly evolving and economic context.
In addition to the logistical organisation of the conference, we ensured a constant twitter coverage using the hashtag #EUFishEcon. In total, we tweeted 110 times, posting the bios of the speakers, quotes, questions, links to relevant pages, etc. We also interacted by direct messaging with dozens of stakeholders, giving information and replying to questions.
Using Keyhole hashtag tracking, we found that since the beginning of the conference:
250 people have used the hashtag #EUFishEcon.
347.280 people have been potentially reached in the EU, US, Canada, Australia, Indonesia, Brazil, Turkey and India.
There have been 1.685.950 impressions (potential views).
