ESCAIDE 2009

26-28 October 2009

Cecoforma organises the third edition of Europe's leading scientific conference on disease control in Stockholm

Against the backdrop of the SARS and avian flu outbreaks, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) was set up to improve EU readiness to counter outbreaks of infectious diseases.
Since 2007, ECDC has held an annual international conference for epidemiologists specialising in infectious diseases, the European Scientific Conference on Applied Infectious Disease Epidemiology (ESCAIDE).

Held every odd year in Stockholm, where the ECDC is headquartered, ESCAIDE 2009 was organised by Cecoforma Events & Communication.

This large forum was, as the previous edition, an opportunity to demonstrate the full range of services Cecoforma Events & Communication can offer in the design, preparation and implementation of a three-day event. Cecoforma Events & Communication also coordinated a series of services for the press, including the drafting of press releases for approval by ECDC, the dispatching of press releases to a list of international medical journalists and members of the foreign press association in Sweden, the provision of a press room and the organisation of a press conference. For the student award ceremony, Cecoforma Events & Communication also employed the services of musicians and photographers. For this scientific conference, Cecoforma Events & Communication developed and coordinated a call for abstracts as well as a paid registration process.
