OFFICIAL RECEPTION AT OPEN DAYS 20129 October 2012
18 musicians for 1 800 participants at the Open Days reception
In October 2012, discussions regarding the EU budget and the future shape of cohesion policy were entering their final and critical phase. Against this backdrop, the Open Days 2012 brought together some 6 000 regional policy practitioners from all over Europe to share best practices and reinforce Regional Policy as the main instrument to realise the growth goals of Europe 2020 and support the EU's exit from the crisis. Under the banner of 'Europe's regions and cities: Making a difference', over 100 seminars and workshops focused on the priorities for future funding. In the context of its flagship forum, the Committee of the Regions wanted to organise a celebratory reception for 1 800 participants on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the world's biggest annual forum for regional and urban policy.
Cecoforma Events & Communication projected and developed a concept based on a concert to be held in the Henri Leboeuf concert hall of Brussel's art museum (BOZAR) followed by a cocktail reception and walking dinner in the famous Horta Hall, with provision of specific scenography and lighting. The concert programme included bands from countries of past, ongoing and upcoming EU Presidencies in 2012 (Denmark, Cyprus) and 2013 (Ireland). Cecoforma Events & Communication coordinated the catering and logistical requests, including the technical set-up and management of the 90-minute concert. It also coordinated the travel and accommodation for 18 musicians coming from Cyprus, Denmark and Ireland.
