ROADSHOW EU VET WEEKNov 2008 - Sept 2009 15 countries
46 114 km to inform 1 million Europeans about EU Veterinary Week
In 2008, DG SANCO wanted to raise awareness and increase endorsement of its new Animal Health Strategy among both stakeholders and the general public. To reach this goal, the concept of an EU Veterinary Week was developed in partnership with the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe. The focus of the first edition was biosecurity through a prism where both humans and animals form part of a comprehensive “One Health” approach. To better promote the EU Veterinary Week in all EU Member States, it was decided to organise a so-called "road show".
Cecoforma Events & Communication proposed and developed a campaign with a customised truck travelling across the EU to reach all agricultural and/or veterinary fairs in 15 Member States. The road show was launched on 10 November 2008 in Brussels at the Autoworld Museum. The truck was redesigned as a “mobile stand” that could be quickly and easily adapted. It included items that could set up a dedicated space in any venue (pop-up stands) as well as two inflatable animals for visibility. At each stop, leaflets were distributed and informative materials were displayed. There was also a series of entertainment activities to bring the stand to life. A communication professional was also available on-site to answer questions about the campaign and the EU Veterinary Week.
